중국 전자기업 TCL이 '프로젝트 시카고'란 이름의 폴더블 스마트폰을 공개했다.

그러나 코로나 바이러스로 인한 부품 값 상승과 브랜드 파워가 약하다는 점 등을
이유로 시장에 출시는 하지 않기로 했다고 발표했다.

TCL 마켓팅 총책임자는 "799달러에 판매할 예정이었으나 799달러를 스마트폰에
소비할 수 있는 사람이라면 999달러도 쓸 수 있을 것이다"라며 출시 취소 이유를 밝혔다.

이는 아마도 갤럭시 Z플립3의 가격이 999달러인 점을 염두한 발언으로 보인다.
